Virtual Lecture on Clostridium difficile Infection is Offered
Rates of Clostridium difficile infection (CDI) have been on the rise in recent years and this diagnosis can result in significant costs for both individuals and the healthcare system as a whole. Given the recent updated guidelines for CDI, combined with several new agents emerging for this disease, it is critical for healthcare professionals to be aware of the most current research and recommendations for the management of CDI.
RMEI, LLC and Postgraduate Institute for Medicine (PIM) are jointly sponsoring a complimentary continuing education virtual lecture titled "Clostridium difficile Infection: Emerging Therapies and Recurrence Prevention" which is certified for physicians, pharmacists and nurses. This activity is supported by an educational grant from Optimer.
Dale Gerding, MD, FACP, FIDSA, professor of medicine at the Stritch School of Medicine at Loyola University Chicago, will serve as moderator for this virtual lecture which was derived from a live symposium held in Boston in October 2011.
