Val Med Goes National

PORTLAND, OR-A 20 year-old medical space management company, Val Med, is hoping to branch out of its local area and become a player on the national scene. The company's official national launch will be at the Society of American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES) conference in March and the Association of periOperative Registered Nurses (AORN) conference in April. Val Med offers turnkey design or redesign and installation of minimally invasive surgery (MIS) suites, open-heart surgery suites, and critical care units. A recent installation of a MIS suite at Oregon Health Sciences University included a "Nurses's Assistant"--a touch screen system set up in a central nurse's station to control room lights, overhead cameras, and video documention devices.
