Sterigenics International Expands Fort Worth Irradiation Facility
Sterigenics International, a global provider of contract sterilization, gamma technologies and medical isotopes, announces expansion at their Forth Worth, Texas location, with the addition of a new gamma cell that will increase capacity by 30 percent. Expansion will be complete by the second quarter of 2017.
“We have committed more than $80 million in capital investments in the past year to support our customers’ growth strategies,” says Michael Mulhern, CEO of Sterigenics International. “In addition to our Fort Worth expansion, we tripled sterilization capacity at the Sterigenics West Memphis, Arkansas location; significantly expanded our Gurnee, Ill. irradiation facility and increased our global service capabilities with the acquisition of leading Latin American sterilization firm Companhia Brasileira de Esterilização (CBE).”
“The Fort Worth expansion is the direct result of increased regional demand for Sterigenics irradiation services,” says Philip Macnabb, president of Sterigenics International LLC. “We are adding gamma processing capacity of up to 5 million cubic feet per year in Texas, with a product overlap system which will provide the capability to process numerous dose ranges and a wide variety of densities.”
Opened in 1984, Sterigenics Fort Worth provides routine gamma, GammaStat® rapid processing, process validation and SteriPro® laboratory testing.
