PDI Launches Fragrance-, Alcohol-Free Quat-Based Disinfecting Wipe
Professional Disposables International Inc. (PDI), maker of the Sani-Cloth® Brand, introduces Sani-Cloth® AF, the first and only fragrance-free, alcohol-free, quaternary-based surface disinfection wipe with an overall kill time of 3 minutes. Sani-Cloth AF Germicidal Disposable Wipe is tested effective against 25 clinically relevant microorganisms, including five multidrug-resistant organisms (MDROs).
By eliminating fragrance from the disinfecting solution, Sani-Cloth AF can be used around patients, residents and healthcare workers with respiratory conditions and sensitivities. As an alcohol free disinfectant, Sani-Cloth AF is perfect for use on alcohol-sensitive equipment and other hard non-porous surfaces. It also helps healthcare institutions comply with the National Fire Protection Agency Life Code 101 which limits the amounts of alcohol placed within a contained area. This allows Sani-Cloth AF to have broader placement within a healthcare facility and more convenient accessibility for healthcare workers.
"Sani-Cloth AF provides clinicians with an unparalleled surface disinfection solution that is both alcohol and fragrance free, allowing for use in even the most sensitive patient environments, as well as on a wide variety of typical healthcare surfaces and equipment," says Hudson Garrett Jr, PhD, PDIs director of clinical affairs. "The products three minute contact time ensures compliance and permits quick turnover of the equipment and/or patient room, while demonstrating effectiveness against clinically relevant microorganisms."
Sani-Cloth AF is the newest component in PDIs comprehensive suite of germicidal wipes and companion products designed to make surface disinfection easier and more effective. Optional dispensing accessories are available for use with Sani-Cloth AF and are designed to aid in compliance with disinfection protocols, along with meeting regulatory requirements from the Joint Commission and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).
