New North Carolina Healthcare-Associated Infections Annual Report
The North Carolina Division of Public Health recently released its 2013 annual report describing healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) in North Carolina hospitals. The prevention of healthcare-associated infections is a public health priority in North Carolina and is a collaborative effort among the healthcare and public health communities. The 2013 Healthcare-Associated Infections Annual Report is an important product of this collaboration.
The 2013 annual report includes infection information from short-term acute care hospitals, long-term acute care hospitals, and inpatient rehabilitation facilities in North Carolina for the calendar year 2013. The report also provides updated state-level and hospital-specific information for three of the most common HAIs.
