More than 2 Billion Purple Gloves Manufactured
ATLANTA - Kimberly-Clark officials are celebrating - they have manufactured more than 2 billion purple nitrile gloves since 1996.
"Safeskin (a Kimberly-Clark division) was one of the first companies to aggressively market nitrile gloves as a latex-free alternative to natural rubber latex and vinyl," says Tim Dye, general manager of the company's glove business. "Our purple nitrile has quickly become the glove of choice, particularly in situation s where confident protection is required, and latex sensitivity is an issue."
Dye also said the color of the glove was selected to make the consumer conscious it was a Safeskin product.
