Medline Offers Free Online Courses on Aseptic Techniques
As flu season starts to send more patients to hospitals, preventing the spread of further infection is top of mind for healthcare professionals around the country. To help reduce the spread of infection by sharing important information and training, Medline Industries, Inc. is providing 20 free courses for certified nursing sssistants (CNAs)Â and registered nurses beginning this week -- International Infection Prevention Week -- through its online education and training community,
Courses are free and open to all healthcare professionals. Course topics include teaching proper aseptic and hand hygiene techniques, all at basic, easy-to-understand levels. The courses count toward state requirements for continuing education, as well as provide valuable information to aid healthcare workers in their goals to reduce hospital-acquired infections. RNs can earn more than 17 CE credits from these infection prevention courses.
Course participants will also receive a code that entitles them to a discount on an order from Medline's consumer website,
The company also offers comprehensive clinical programs to reduce the risk of catheter-associated urinary tract infections and ventilator-associated pneumonia, as well as an educational program aimed at improving hand hygiene compliance. Â
