Medline to Distribute Cygnus Medical's Endoscopic Care and Handling Products

Medline Industries, Inc. announces an exclusive partnership with Cygnus Medical to include its care and handling products for endoscopic instruments in Medlines procedure packs.

This partnership with Cygnus Medical is important because proper cleaning and caring of endoscopic instruments is essential to protecting the safety of the patient, says Dante Tisci, president of Dynacor, Medlines manufacturing and procedure kit division. Removing visible bioburden from instruments immediately after the procedure is a crucial part of a highly effective infection control practice and will help ensure the instruments are free of pathogens and in good working order after reprocessing.

Products in the agreement include:

- First Step Bedside Kits Includes a stand up pouch with enzymatic detergent and hand pad for immediate post procedure cleaning at the bedside.

- Caterpillar Brush The first channel brush designed to pull through the scope channels without buckling, which increases cleaning efficiency.

- Oasis Scope Transport Tray Made of 100 percent recycled paper pulp, this disposable rigid scope transport container protects the scope during transport to and from the procedure room.
