HyGreen Partners with RCA Medical in Johannesburg, South Africa
HyGreen, Inc. announces a distribution agreement and partnership with RCA Medical, a subsidiary of Ascendis Health Limited, in Johannesburg, South Africa.
To help combat healthcare-associated infections, the HyGreen system actively reminds healthcare workers if they forget to wash before patient contact and wirelessly records all hand hygiene events in the hospital.
Over the last 15 years RCA has established itself as a market leader in the areas of medical pendant systems and surgical theater lights and have experienced significant growth in the areas of anesthetics, patient monitoring, imaging, theatre tables and hospital beds. Today, RCA is capable of offering complete solutions for the operating theater, all ICUs, trauma units, maternity, general wards and radiology. RCA has access to 396 public hospitals and 256 private hospitals in Africa and will be a major influence in the hand hygiene market.
"HyGreen will easily fit into the hospital protocols of RCA's customers due to its passive role in hand hygiene compliance. Healthcare facilities will be exited to work with a real time behavioral modification system that directly effects the bottom line in cost reduction," says HyGreen president Ron Youngblood. "With hospitals facing new challenges in Africa and worldwide, HyGreen is able to fill a major role in front line infection prevention for both patients and healthcare workers."
The HyGreen system was designed to reflect guidelines from leading industry experts, including the Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC), the Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of America (SHEA), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Joint Commission.
