GOJO Skin Care Scientist Wins Award for Alcohol-Based Handrub Efficacy Abstract

GOJO Industries, Inc. announces receipt of the APIC 2011 William A. Rutala Award for distinction in scientific discovery. The award, sponsored by Clorox, is given to a member whose abstract most closely reflects the excellence demonstrated by William A. Rutala, an expert in disinfection, sterilization and antisepsis. The Abstract Selection Subcommittee recognizes abstracts that demonstrate exemplary scientific merit and are of high interest and relevance to the infection control community.

The APIC 2011 award honors GOJO skin care and technology scientist Sarah Edmonds, MS, for her abstract focusing on formulation excellence. Her paper, "Comparative Efficacy of Commercially Available Alcohol-based Handrubs and WHO-Recommended Handrubs: Which is More Critical, Alcohol Content or Product Formulation?" (Poster #1569) was presented on June 27 during the APIC 2011 Annual Conference in Baltimore.
