Germicidal Agent in Paints Can Fight Superbugs

Scientists have discovered the germicidal properties of titanium dioxide, a brilliant white compound used as a brightening agent in paints. New information on how nanoparticle-sized forms of titanium dioxide destroy bacteria when they absorb ultraviolet light energy from the sun was presented at a meeting being held this week by the UK’s Society for General Microbiology.
