Diversey Care Initiative Provides Aid to Regions Lacking Proper Hand Hygiene Resources
In recognition of World Hand Hygiene Day on May 5, Sealed Air’s Diversey Care division will donate one dollar Sealed Air’s Soap for Hope™ initiative for every “like,” “love” and share on its hand hygiene Facebook posts. The program kicks off on April 26 at
“Clean hands save lives. In fact, proper hand hygiene has the potential to save five million lives annually in hospitals alone,” said Dr. Ilham Kadri, president of Diversey Care. “Yet, many people still lack the resources to take care of their hands properly and regularly. Soap for Hope provides soap to people in need so that they can practice hand hygiene.”
Each year a typical 400-room hotel generates 3.5 tons of solid soap waste. Soap for Hope recovers this soap and then teaches at-risk communities to salvage it into new soap bars. The new soap is then transported to communities in need and distributed, eliminating waste, improving hygiene and creating new jobs. Through its dollar-for-like, love and share initiative, Diversey Care hopes to not only raise awareness about hand hygiene, but also provide direct monetary aid.
