Deadline Extended for Kimberly-Clark Health Care HAI WATCHDOG Award Entry

If you havent submitted your entry for the Kimberly-Clark Health Care 2014 HAI WATCHDOG Awards, its not too late. The deadline for submissions is now extended through Feb. 28, 2014. For the fourth year, Kimberly-Clark Health Care is hosting the HAI WATCHDOG Awards to recognize outstanding healthcare-associated infection (HAI) education and prevention initiatives that are making strides in reducing these adverse events.

The fourth annual HAI WATCHDOG Awards program recognizes healthcare facilities for their work to reduce HAI rates through staff and patient education and the use of best practices in HAI prevention.

This year, the Clinicians Choice Award category will recognize HAI prevention initiatives that help educate and build awareness without directly tracking HAI rate changes. The award recipients will be selected via online public voting to determine one first place recipient and up to three honorable mentions.

The healthcare facility that receives first place will be recognized with an educational grant from Kimberly-Clark Health Care and will receive a commemorative plaque.

The deadline to submit entries is Friday, Feb. 28, 2014 for any HAI prevention programs implemented between Oct. 1, 2012 and Dec. 31, 2013.

The HAI WATCHDOG Awards program recognizes the efforts of dedicated healthcare professionals who are working to reduce and prevent HAIs in their facilities. The program empowers clinicians to share infection prevention best practices and learn from each other to help promote awareness and prevention to reduce HAIs.
