CBIC Seeks Input for Job Analysis Survey for the a-IPC Certification
The Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology (CBIC) is calling on infection prevention professionals to help shape the future of the a-IPC exam through a vital new job analysis survey.
The Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology (CBIC) has initiated a job analysis survey to support its associate—Infection Prevention and Control (a-IPC) certification. This key effort seeks to confirm the essential knowledge, skills, and abilities of novice infection preventionists (IPs), helping to keep the a-IPC exam current and aligned with practical needs. By distinguishing the competencies of entry-level IPs from those with CIC credentials who are in early or mid-career stages, CBIC enhances professional development routes in infection prevention.
The online survey, open from July 8 to August 8, 2025, takes approximately 30 to 40 minutes to complete. Participants will have the chance to win one of 10 $50 Amazon gift cards, chosen at random.

Survey window: July 8 – August 8, 2025
Estimated time: 30–40 minutes
As a token of appreciation, participants who complete the survey will be entered into a drawing to win one of several $50 Amazon gift cards.
