AVT TANCS Steam Vapor Points to Peer-Reviewed Research on Biofilm
In response to recent research about the challenge of controlling biofilm, Advanced Vapor Technologies (AVT) is disseminating a link to peer-reviewed research in the American Journal of Infection Control:
The research conducted by the Department of Environmental Health Sciences at the School of Public Health, University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Mich., demonstrates the ability of TANCS steam vapor to eradicate biofilm in a “3-second steam treatment” with >99.95 percent killing efficiency.
The study also noted that less than one second of applied TANCS steam vapor equaled “10-ppm sodium hypochlorite (bleach) for 10-20 minutes of contact time.”
Advanced Vapor Technologies (AVT) is the maker of proprietary, water-only steam vapor cleaning and disinfection systems. AVT systems reduce health risks associated with typical chemical cleaners, eradicate a wide range of bacteria and pathogens, improve indoor environmental quality and help prevent indoor hazards and surface degradation associated with chemical use. TANCS® disinfection is designed to be many times more effective than standard chemical disinfectants, without the associated risks to people, the environment, and surfaces.
