APIC Offers Course in Infection Prevention for ASCs
The Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC) will hold the conference, Infection Prevention for Ambulatory Surgery Centers, Sept. 10-11 at the Baltimore Waterfront Marriott in Baltimore.
This comprehensive infection prevention training course was created to help ambulatory surgery centers (ASCs) meet important regulatory requirements established by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). Attendees will learn how to build and manage an effective infection prevention program; how to reduce infection risk and protect patients; how to gain access to useful infection prevention information and essential resources to address a rapidly changing healthcare environment; how to understand the importance of regulations; and how to better protect your facilitys bottom line.
All course attendees will receive a CD with practical templates and resources such as a risk assessment tool; an ambulatory infection control checklist; a root cause analysis evaluation tool; and more.
Those who should attend the course include licensed nurses with the responsibility for the facility's infection prevention and control program in freestanding ambulatory surgery centers, physician office-based surgery centers, as well as ASC nurse managers, ASC administrators, and physicians and others responsible for ASC quality assessment and performance improvement programs.
