Nelson Laboratories will provide instruction on the necessary sterility assurance levels for medical devices at MD&M East June 10-12, 2014 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York in booth number 1857.
Martell Winters, senior scientist at Nelson Laboratories, will present updates to sterilization and bioburden standards June 10 from 10:00 to 11:45 a.m. (in Track B, Technical Training Track 1). He will speak on the topic, Medical Device Sterilization: Selection of SAL, Evaluation of Bioburden Data, Alert and Action Levels and Bioburden Excursions. The presentation will help medical device manufacturers better understand sterility assurance and bioburden data.
"We will discuss the necessity of a 10-6 sterility assurance level, bioburden data, and establishing alert and action levels," says Winters. "This information is necessary for all forms of sterilization and products, but is especially pertinent for combination products, biologics, and tissues."
In addition, Winters will present, Updates to the Bioburden Standard ISO 11737-1; Significant Additional Guidance. P.S. What Happened to the Microbiologists?, in the Tech Theater June 11 at 12:40 to 1:10 p.m. (located in booth 479).
